The annual Grace Springs Business and Vocational School Exhibition was held on Sunday, 12th November 2017. The year’s graduating students (19th session), immediate past students (18th Session) and other alumni of the school participated in the exhibition.
The exhibition began immediately after the first service, with colourful displays of handmade products as well as music–giving life to the atmosphere.
The exhibition had varieties of items on sale including leather work products –slippers, sandals, shoes and bags. Fashion products and ready-to-wear outfits for ladies and men were also on sale. Household cleaning products made by alumni of the school were also on display–including disinfectants, insecticides, anti-bacterial hand-wash, and dishwashing liquid wash. Graduates and undergraduates from the culinary section of the school had different food delicacies and drinks on display.
Mrs. Lawani, an executive of the GSBVS, noted that the exhibition is an avenue to showcase what the alumni members have accomplished since they graduated from the school. An alumnus, Isi Omiyi had participated in so many fashion shows in Nigeria and is currently a member of the GSBVS faculty.
Shortly after the second service, Pastors Taiwo and Nomthi Odukoya, along with a guest minister Bishop Nolan McCants-Senior Pastor of Harvest Church Plainfield, Chicago-USA and other pastors of the Fountain of Life Church –Pastor Gbenga, Pastor Kunle Areogun, and Pastor Tinu, visited the exhibition. They were ushered in by the executives of the GSBVS. Pastor Tinu took the entourage round the stands, providing details on the fashion, leather work products, and other items on sales. Some of the exhibitors were patronised, even by Bishop McCants – who picked bags (tote & satchel designs) for his wife and daughter.
Pastor Taiwo prayed for all the exhibitors as he went round with his entourage and blessed their businesses. He concluded his visit by presenting a gift to Mama Holloway who has been instrumental to the success of the GSBVS. In turn, on behalf of the GSBVS, she also presented a gift to Pastor Taiwo, to appreciate his support towards the empowerment of people, especially members of the Fountain of Life Church.
