There is indeed power mighty in the Blood of Jesus Christ! Another evidence of the efficacy of the blood of the Lamb was proclaimed recently when Ayo Adejumo shared the amazing testimony of the power of God over his family. Ayo who saw his wife lying stone –cold dead on the hospital theatre table, chose to stand in unshakable faith and God rewarded his faith.
According to Adejumo, in July 2007, the family was expecting its third child. When the delivery was a bit delayed, the hospital decided to induce her. The night she was to be induced, Mrs. Adejumo asked her husband to return home and take care of their other children; so he loaded her phone with credit so as to get in touch with her as soon as she was delivered of the baby. Little did they know that the enemy was waging a war.
In the early hours of the next morning, the battle over Mrs. Adejumo’s life began. Around 3:00am Ayo said he suddenly jerked up from the bed without knowing how it happened, so he knew then that something was wrong. He picked up his phone and called his wife’s number but her phone was switched off. After several minutes, a call came in from her phone. He immediately started asking why she switched her phone off but another lady’s voice responded, requesting his presence at the hospital immediately. Ayo said, “I ran out of the house and my neighbour upstairs followed me. On our way to the hospital around Gbagada, the car stopped on the road. I got down and ran on foot to the hospital. When I got there, I saw her on a table, bleeding. They already told me that the baby was dead.
Now she was beginning to ask me to take care of this and take care of that.” Ayo said he scolded his wife and asked her to repeat that she would not die but live to show forth the glory of God. He even went as far as making her declare that no other would take her place in the lives of her children. The doctor then brought a form for him to sign, and he did. After that, he was asked to go and get some pints of blood. All the likely places he could have gotten blood were not opened but somehow after some calls were made, he was able to get about three pints which he took to the hospital.
Unfortunately, he was told that the blood was of no use and that he needed to get “fresh blood”. According to him, “I stood and was wondering where I would get fresh blood from when I am not a witch or wizard. But there was a young man standing by me, who said that they should test him.
Immediately he was tested, the doctor said that the blood group needed was (O+), so he said they should take it. While they were taking his blood, somebody else called and said that he heard that something was wrong with my wife and he too came in. Several other people were just coming in without even knowing why. All the bloods were just the right type needed and they just kept on donating blood.” The blood donation was coming in like a bountiful harvest as God kept sending more helpers.
In Ayo’s own words, “When I rushed back to the theatre and I dropped it, one man thought I was digging it from the ground and he was wondering where I got the blood from. God just kept on bringing people, there was no shortage of blood.” Around 5:00am, even in his uncoordinated state, Ayo called the Senior Pastor, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who prayed with him over the phone. “In the end, Pastor just said, ‘Ko ni si nkankan loruko Jesu’ (meaning ‘there won’t be anything in Jesus name’) and I believed him.” Seeing that he was losing ground, the devil reared his ugly head from another angle.
After the operation, the doctors came out with the news no one ever wants to hear–Mrs Adejumo was dead! Ayo said, “When I saw her, she was actually dead; she was swollen and black.” But the unrelenting and unusual faith in Ayo Adejumo sent him back into the room where his wife’s body lay and there she was, jerking.
The doctor quickly asked him to go and get more blood after the initial 17 pints. He then spoke with a friend explaining the situation he was in and this friend located the hospital, came in and donated his blood. While they were seated, Bro Ayo said he noticed there was a lady in front of him who was just smiling. According to him, “I had never seen her before; she was very beautiful and huge. She just said, “Can I donate?” I told her we needed an O+ and she said she was O+. So they took her to the room and you know how difficult it is to get blood from women during donation because they find it very hard to locate their veins, but this lady’s veins were found at the right time and she donated blood.”
The strange lady then offered to pray with him and during the 15 minutes of prayer, Ayo said he remembered the lady saying in prayer that “the last blood she will take is sprinkled with Your blood (Jesus’ Blood).” Immediately she finished, he broke into tears and asked how to thank her, but she said it was not necessary. “I asked for her name,” he said, “but all she said was “Adura Mi Gba” (my prayers are answered).
At that moment, I knew this was not just an ordinary person that had come to donate blood. Immediately the blood was given, my wife was fine.” Even as you read this testimony, Mrs. Ayo Adejumo is still alive to the glory of God and to the everlasting shame of the devil. The Blood of Jesus will always prevail!
