“See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail.” – Isaiah 54:16-17a The testimony you are about to read verifies exactly God’s promise in this scripture to His children.
Like most families who hail from the eastern parts of Nigeria travel to their hometowns for Christmas festivities, Mrs Ugo Ojo and her family embarked on a journey to their state of origin. Now, this was not just one of those journeys; this was a special journey for them as her sister’s fiancé, a Yoruba man, travelled with them to be introduced to his soon-to- be parents-in-law. However, what seemed like a smooth journey turned out to be a bullet-spraying galore as the enemy attacked them in the guise of armed robbers. Read her story: continued on page
“On 24th December 2015 we left Lagos at about 5pm to the East. The journey was okay until we got to Benin-Asaba bypass, and we ran into the heavily armed robbers that were not merciful at all. Before then, we had met our cousin on the way and I said, “It’s good because I don’t know the short cut from Anambra to our place.” He drove in a different car ahead of us. However, I noticed that he veered off the express. I wondered why he chose to take the bush path. He then wound down and was shouting ‘thieves, thieves!’ Initially I thought they were police but when I saw them I noticed that they covered their mouth with a red cloth.’
Mrs. Ojo said the person driving the car tried to turn back but his tyre got stuck and, at that point she didn’t remember how to pray.
“I didn’t know how to pray, I didn’t remember to pray in the Spirit but I remember sometimes before the end of the year Pastor was talking about the Blood of Jesus and he said there is a situation you get to and the Blood of Jesus is the only card you had. It really was the last card we had that night’.
Mrs. Ojo and her sister started pleading the Blood of Jesus. She said her worry was more for the safety of her sister’s fiancé, a Yoruba guy who was travelling with them for the first time. She was scared at what people might say and think if anything had happened to him.
She then prayed for confusion upon the robbers and what followed next was amazing.
“I now understand it that when God covers you with His cloud of glory your ordinary car turns into a bulletproof car. One of the armed robbers was standing in front of my intending brother-in-law and fired the gun, for the first time I saw a bullet come out of a gun. By human calculation the bullet should have hit target being by my brother-in-law to be but because we were pleading the Blood of Jesus the bullet even passed beside the car.”
As if that was not enough, in the midst of eight armed robbers firing at their car, Mrs Ugo Ojo said she told her brother-in-law to be to turn around and as he was trying to turn as he wasn’t too familiar with the route, one of the armed robbers came to his side of the window and tried to use the butt of his gun to smash the window but it was as if he was just knocking. “God turned our car into something really strong.”
“When we reversed and turned the car thinking of how we should escape, they fired at us again and the bullet hit the trunk of our car but it was like they threw a stone at us. My God is awesome!”
“I just want to give God praise because though they shot at us, we were not hurt. They did not get us. Praise the LORD!” She concluded.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
