My Supernatural Harvest

I came to the crossover service in 2014 tired and sleepy as my wife had just had our second child.

When Pastor Taiwo mounted the podium to give the words of prophecy as he did every year, I realised I had forgotten my pen at home and so I had to type his instructive words on the Memo App on my phone. I took down the following words:

Every virtue and gifting that I have been given shall find expression in 2015

Every burden or cross will not cross over into 2015 with me and this year (2015) I shall know the meaning of the word that any creature in Christ is a new creation.

The status quo will no longer prevail

I am entering an era of unprecedented restoration

Men I do not know will call me

It is my year of Supernatural Harvest

I hit the year running with these words engraved in my heart.

I had worked in one of the commercial banks for close to 10 years and I had only been promoted twice in my entire career. As such, when the rumour of an imminent promotion started, I was very expectant, especially now that I had a growing family and increased expenses. Alas when the list was released my name was omitted despite my above 80 appraisals consecutively. I was sad but not broken. I refreshed my CV and began to apply to various organisations.

Sometime in March 2015, I received a phone call from a South African Consultant recruiting on behalf of an International Bank and had two tele-interviews… I remembered Pastor’s prophecy that ‘Men I do not know will call me’. They informed me that my interviews had been recorded and would be sent alongside the questions to the employer and if they found me interesting, I would be invited for a physical interview.

In May 2015, I received a flight ticket and hotel reservation to come to Cairo- Egypt for an oral interview at the Bank’s Head Office. I contacted a friend working in the Bank who coached me on what to expect…I remembered Pastor’s words of supernatural connection. On May 10th, I arrived in Cairo and was ushered through the diplomatic section of the airport and treated as a VIP through immigration. A sparkling black Mercedes Benz was waiting to chauffer me to my hotel which was 5 Star.

I remembered Pastor’s words of “Entering an era of unprecedented restoration”.

I sat for a written and oral interview the next day and God granted me favour. I was handed a handsome per diem and I flew back to Nigeria same day. Throughout the flight, I pondered that if I was this pampered as a candidate, how will I be treated as a Staff? The other candidates had foreign postgraduate degrees from top schools, I only had an MBA from UNILAG but I knew God alone qualifies a man. I doubled my offering and made a pledge and began to wait for my harvest.

“When I look back I remember the word for the year, Amos 9:13 (The Message vesion)… “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once-and everywhere you look, Blessings! It’s been almost 3 months now and indeed I have reaped with joy my supernatural Harvest.”

Pastor was very specific each Sunday as I waited for the result. He called for the choir to minister the “Obuli wo melu/higher higher song” and told us that the song wasn’t a ritual but prophetic. He also called on the choir to sing a song…. “God is able to do what He says He will do”… these songs encouraged me and I played them anytime I had doubts about the outcome of my interview. I was strengthened by a member who testified about how God granted her the “Young Global Leader Award” miraculously and also another man who got a job miraculously with Accenture shortly before his wedding in the USA. These testimonies made me believe God more.

My office had become uneasy about the same time, two people were suspended and my other colleagues redeployed from the Energy Division to Retail Banking. But a day after this, I received a mail in my Yahoo box, on opening it, it read… ‘We are pleased to….’

I did not finish reading the mail; I walked to the toilet and knelt down praying and crying to God.

I had just been offered the position of Business Development Manager, Anglophone West Africa to develop business for the Bank in six West African countries of Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Cape Verde. Indeed Pastor’s prophecy of the ‘Status quo no longer prevailing’ had come to pass. The package was mind boggling with all salaries in USD, four times more; tax free, a life insurance, international medical insurance, full diplomatic privileges, 80% tuition cover for 4 kids up till 25 years old in the world’s top schools, spouse allowance etc.

When I look back I remember the word for the year, Amos 9:13 (The Message Vesion)…. “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once- and everywhere you look, Blessings!”

It’s been almost three months now and indeed I have reaped with joy my Supernatural Harvest. Indeed God has given me a testimony to confirm that He is the God of The Fountain of Life Church and His words freely given to His church through His son- Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya !
