“Every single one of you is a star. Children of light shine as light in the darkness, the darker it is the more you shine.” These were the encouraging words of guest speaker Mrs. Sola David-Borha, CEO of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC at the first Discovery For Women rally of the year, held at The Fountain Of Life Church on Sunday March 6, 2016.
Mrs. David-Borha displayed four different pictures to the congregation with the first being a body of stars which she used as an example in the above statement. She encouraged the women never to be intimidated by other men or women because their being stars does not take away the brightness of other stars .
The second picture was of the earth cut in half to show its core. She stated that the deeper you get earth’s core, the hotter it becomes. Mrs. David-Borha then asked the women what was at their core, what their values were and what things they were passionate about. She said that the true test of integrity is when people live by their values.
The third picture she displayed depicted a crescendo, which means to play music with greater volume and energy. In her words, “God would continue to take you to greater heights. No matter what you have achieved in life, ministry and career, there is still much more ahead”.
The last picture was of people and this, she said, is everyone’s business and we must use love to reach out to them.
The second guest speaker was Mrs. Onyeka Onwenu, former Director General, National Centre for Women Development and she spoke about her experience as DG and how she leaned on daily wisdom from God for her achievements in office.
“There are things to be gleaned and learned from every experience. When you are walking along the military zone the sign say “keep moving” so regardless of what you go through keep moving,” she said.
Some of the testimonies at the conference included that of Mrs. Nora Akinyemi who testified of how God fully paid for her home in Lekki, her Brand new SUV and gave her peace despite the shake-up in her office. Mrs. Oyindamola Fakile testified of giving birth to a healthy daughter in spite of the surgery that led to the removal of her left ovary and tubes. She also testified of how she got a double promotion and a car.
On her part, Mrs. Ayo Megbope, testified of God’s miraculous provision towards the opening of the second branch of “No Left Overs” in Abuja.
The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya who titled his message ‘Created to Reign.’ reminded the women that a lot changed the moment they became a Christian. He said there was a need to live in that consciousness. “What you don’t know the devil would continue to hold you down with it but if you do know, you would declare it boldly.” He went further to say that every catalyst in the Kingdom not only knew who they were, they lived by it.
The man of God stated that anyone who is in Christ is automatically a king, “if you are in Christ limitations don’t matter, it is a level ground. In a world that only answers to authority, it starts with knowing who you are.”
Jesus, he continued, is still speaking and if you do what he says, water will turn to wine. “He has won the victory for you, all you need to do is enforce it.”BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
