The excitement could be felt in the atmosphere as congregants gathered in earnest expectation at the April anointing service which held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the main auditorium of The Fountain of Life Church. The presence of God could be felt from the praise worship session all through to the special worship ministration by the Grace Levite Worship team. Testimonies of God’s Divine intervention, recovery and healing in the lives of His children were shared.
One particular testimony came from the Outreach Department of how God used the ministry to reach out to souls addicted to drugs for over 28 years. These people after giving their lives to Christ, were rehabilitated and established in self sustain businesses by the church.
In his sermon for the evening, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya reminded the church of the scripture for the year Rev 3:7-8 and the scripture for the month Luke 1:30, adding that Mary also experienced a Divine Encounter that changed her life forever. “When you know you have found favour with God, your attitude will change”, he said. He reminded the church that everything in their lives is impacted by their attitude and their attitude is influenced by their conviction. In his words, “If your conviction is that the door is open, your attitude will reflect it,” noting further that a joyful person will show by his countenance that he is in sync with the Spirit of God because attitude speaks.
Pastor Taiwo went on to speak about the widow of Zarephath as captured in 1Kings17:1-24. He described her meeting Elijah as a Divine Encounter. He drew the attention of the congregation to vs 14 where the word of God and promise birthed a conviction in her obedience to the ridiculous-looking demand of the prophet. The promise from God that the barrel would never run dry preceded her obedience and aided her conviction. Standing on the word of God, Pastor Taiwo said a believer can take huge leaps of faith and achieve remarkable results.
Speaking further, he explained that just like Mary and the widow, every believer must act in faith when the word of God comes to them. “Taking action is the attitude that reflects that we have received the word”, he said. He admonished everyone present to take action when they receive an instruction because in so doing, God will show up for them.
Pastor went on to remind the church as recorded in Psalm 34:19 though slated for a divine encounter, there will be afflictions, but God has promised to deliver us from them all. He made reference to the widow whose son (in verse 17) fell ill to the point of death, but God delivered him and renewed her faith.
In closing, Pastor Taiwo declared that in this new month, every dead thing would come alive and new dreams would be birthed and that there will be a turnaround for all that believes.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
